Tuscan Light and Botanical Rituals at Collegio alla Querce

First global spa collaboration with Sicily-based skincare brand brings plant-powered protocols to an Auberge Resorts Collection hotel

Aelia Spa Opens in Florence at Historic Collegio alla Querce

Aelia Spa opened in 2025 inside Collegio alla Querce, a 16th-century former educational complex that now operates as part of Auberge Resorts Collection. The property stands on a hillside north-west of Florence’s historic centre and looks toward both the city’s UNESCO-listed monuments and the surrounding countryside. Collegio alla Querce contains 49 rooms, 28 suites and 6 grand suites. Aelia occupies a dedicated wing with four treatment rooms; two are arranged for single guests and two serve couples and include a bathtub and a multisensory shower.

Furtuna Skin Partners with Aelia for Skincare Treatments. Collegio alla Querce, Florence

Furtuna Skin supplies every topical formula used at the spa. The skincare company, founded by Agatha Relota Luczo, sources plants from La Furtuna Farm, an 800-acre organic estate in western Sicily. The farm cultivates olives, herbs and wild botanicals that are processed with Soundbath® Extraction, a low-heat method that relies on sonic vibration rather than chemical solvents. Aelia is the first spa worldwide to integrate Furtuna Skin products and protocols across its full menu of services.

All services fall into four thematic groups that reference regional plant sources and therapeutic aims. The Giardino track uses preparations derived from herbs and flowers. The Bosco track focuses on olive leaf and fruit components. The Vigna track introduces grape-based antioxidants. The Spirito track combines somatic techniques with sensory stimulation. Two body services—Olive Oil and Tuscan Lemon and Olive Leaf Deep Tissue—apply Furtuna Skin’s Biphase Body Oil, a product released to the public first through Aelia. A separate facial treatment combines Furtuna Skin serums with pressure-point massage and manual lymphatic drainage.

Wellness Facilities and Fitness Programmes at Aelia Spa, Collegio alla Querce

Visitors may rest after treatments in the Garden Relaxation Room, which faces the property’s terraced grounds. A fitness space remains open around the clock. The Volta dell’Angelo studio hosts scheduled sessions such as mat Pilates and a sound-bath accompanied by live opera vocals.

Aelia contains a shop curated by Furtuna Skin. The selection includes the LXR12 elixir bottled specifically for Collegio alla Querce. Items from Bona Furtuna, a sister brand, are also on display. These include monovarietal olive oils, wild honey, bee pollen and Sicilian sea salt. Guests who complete a treatment may join an olive-oil tasting led by Agatha Relota Luczo. The tasting pairs three oils with fresh apples and accompaniments prepared by the hotel’s chef, Nicola Zamperetti.

Furtuna Longevity Wellness Retreat Scheduled for October 2025

The Furtuna Longevità Retreat is planned for 16–19 October 2025 and will be directed by Agatha Relota Luczo. The four-day programme combines personal skincare assessments, instructional cooking sessions and an Olive Oil and Botanical Bathing ritual based on Roman bathing practices. Participation is open to hotel residents and external guests by advance reservation.
