Invitedby Journal takes its name from a familiar Instagram disclosure: invited by. A small phrase used to signal access to places, events and experiences that are normally filtered, private or reserved. Invitedby turns that condition of access into an editorial method.
Every story begins on site. Time is spent inside a place, observing how it works before deciding how to describe it. Access is not treated as endorsement. It creates an obligation to look closely, provide context and distinguish what is designed to be seen from what actually defines an experience.
Text and photography develop together. Images are produced on site and form part of the reporting rather than illustrating it afterwards. Architecture, materials, landscape, routines and people are read as elements of the same system.
Hotels are temporary infrastructures for living. They organize sleep, food, movement, work, privacy and encounters within a defined architectural system.
Invitedby examines hotels through architecture, interior design, materials, landscape and adaptive reuse. Particular attention is given to the relationship between a building and its location: what was already there, what has been altered and what has been preserved.
Hospitality is also operational. Maintenance, energy use, sourcing, labor and daily decisions determine how a property functions long after the architectural photographs have been taken.
All photography is produced on site. No staged representation is required to understand a place.

Invitedby follows these systems back to their sources. Ingredients are considered in relation to territory and supply chains; dining rooms through materials, acoustics, furniture and circulation; chefs through processes rather than personality alone.
A restaurant is therefore read as both a cultural space and a productive system.
Beauty is approached through what products are made of, how they are formulated and what kinds of routines they create.
Invitedby looks at fragrance, skincare and cosmetics through raw ingredients, formulation, research, packaging and production. It also follows the people responsible for these decisions: perfumers, formulators, founders, designers and manufacturers.
Claims matter less than mechanisms. A product is examined through composition, use and the habits it produces over time.
Invitedby covers architecture, design, hospitality, travel, food, beauty, fashion and art.
News is not treated as a race for immediacy. New openings, exhibitions, objects, collaborations and appointments are placed within longer histories, industries and material contexts.
Speed can establish what happened. Journalism should also explain why it matters, how it came about and what surrounds it.
