Invitedby Journal turns access into journalism: on-site reporting, context, and genius loci

Invitedby Journal borrows its name from an Instagram habit: that small tag people add to signal they were let into a place that is usually closed, filtered, or reserved. We took the tag out of the caption and built an editorial structure around it.

Invitedby is an archive of access. Each story starts when a door opens and someone is allowed inside. Time on site matters. Context matters. Responsibility toward what is observed matters. The journal looks at places from within, following their rhythms rather than staging an experience.

Text and image develop together, as parallel forms of inquiry. Each piece is shaped by its surroundings, with steady attention to genius loci and to how a place works beyond its surface.

Hotels are treated as temporary cultural infrastructures: systems designed to host bodies, routines, work, and movement for a limited duration.

Invitedby Journal reads hotels through architecture and genius loci. Design is examined in relation to raw materials, maintenance, and adaptation. Sustainability is addressed as a set of daily practices and human decisions, not a slogan.
